Local Government

Local government Councils are separate decision-making bodies. Each determine their own budgets and spending priorities. Some are wealthier than others. Some are more progressive, more responsive, and more pro-active. Some will have funding available for local community groups, usually through a regular program of grants, available at set times throughout the year. Generally the grants available through local government are for relatively small amounts. However, the local government grant goes far beyond its monetary value.

Local Government Association (LGA)
The Local Government Association of SA can assist you with online grant options as well as supporting your arts and cultural activities through the Creative Communities Network. The LGA lobbies and works with other Governments on specific purpose grant programs which are sometimes difficult to identify or match to Council projects and activities.
