Community Workshops
CAN SA believes that community arts activities, underpinned by principles of social justice, can change our lives and therefore our communities and all our futures. CAN SA is committed to developing the skill levels of all those participating in community arts and have a long track record in undertaking this work.
CAN SA runs a program of workshops and forums to offer professional development opportunities for anyone working or participating in community arts practice within South Australia. CAN SA's community workshops cover both arts practice and arts business topics and will use ccd philosophy.
In 2012 CAN SA has received funding through Arts SA to deliver a series of targeted, advanced professional development workshops within three different community arts fields. The program will be delivered in partnership with three existing arts collectives closely connected to their local communities.
Focused on the three community arts fields of health & wellbeing, social justice and positive ageing, the workshops will be held in the suburbs of Mount Barker, Adelaide and Port Adelaide.

CAN SA networks with a range of artists to deliver workshops that support skills development and offer communities a creative opportunity for networking. In previous years CAN SA has partnered with organisations to deliver culturally-based artist-run workshops in Cuban paper-mâché artists, Sri Lankan puppeteers and Aboriginal visual artists.
